Campaspe Shire Council is calling local groups, schools, businesses and individuals to apply for a Port of Echuca Activity Grant for financial support to deliver free community activities within Echuca’s Port Precinct.
Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said $20,000 has been allocated to the one-off grants program to support a variety of events to engage and entertain locals and visitors over the coming months.
“Everyone is encouraged to apply for a grant. The activity needs to align with the Port Precinct Strategy – A place to take your time, relax and enjoy yourself. The more creative the idea, the better,” Cr Weston said.
The funding program aims to support activities of benefit to Campaspe residents and visitors. These can include any type of activity such as sport displays/clinics, specialised art or craft demonstrations, animal displays, performing arts, music etc. Successful activities held in the Port Precinct over the summer period have included outdoor movies, yoga on the wharf and meditation in the park.
“There is up to $2,000 available per activity and events must be held before 30 June,” Cr Weston said.
“If you’re interested in doing something, please contact council’s Tourism Support Officer to discuss the proposal,” Cr Weston said.
Funding guidelines and application forms are now available on council’s website, closing on 14 June, or when all funding has been allocated.
