King tides will be experienced during the next week causing localised tidal flooding.

Residents should avoid parking cars in low-lying tidal areas and never drive through floodwaters.

Motorists are reminded that tidal flooding is saltwater, which can cause damage to cars. Driving through floodwaters also generates small waves that may travel into properties causing inconvenience and potential damage.

King tide levels for Cairns are expected at the following times (other areas may vary):

3.43m at 8.34am on Monday 18 February3.52m at 9.15am on Tuesday 19 February3.50m at 9.54am on Wednesday 20 February3.35m at 10.33am on Thursday 21 February
