A new club amenities building at Alley Park will provide greater opportunities for southern sporting clubs to hold functions and earn additional income.
Council today approved the $1,688,500 project, which has been partly funded by the State Government’s Female Facility Project ($480,000) and the Federal Government’s Regional Jobs and Investment Packages ($600,000).
The well-loved sporting park is home to the Gordonvale Touch Association, Southern Suburbs Rugby League Club and Southern Suburbs Junior Rugby League.
The new amenities building includes:
A multipurpose roomCanteenOffice spaceFirst aid roomToilets and change roomsUndercover areas linking the new facility to the existing grandstand suitable for outdoor entertainment and wet weather protectionTo service the rapidly growing southern corridor, the project has been designed to accommodate future expansion.
The new facility is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
