Patrons at Summer Splash Zone, a free school holiday event organised by the Shire at Briggs Park, might have seen the Fight the Bite stall that was set up to promote the Shire's Mosquito Management Education Program.
The Shire would like to extend our thanks to those who visited the stall and had a chat with our staff.
The health and well being of local residents needs to be protected from mosquitoes, by increasing awareness, knowledge and understanding of the health risks mosquitoes pose.
Most people who visited the stall were surprised to find out that their backyards are the most common breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Residents were able to complete a mini evaluation survey and receive a free gym pass from the SJ Community Recreation Centre.
In addition to that, five lucky residents also won a $50 voucher from another of local supporters, Wasp Paintball in Hopeland.
Congratulates to Ruth Vaioty, Haitine Fitzi, Shauna Webb, Naomi Coxon and Tami Bamkin who all won a paintball voucher.
