// Sealed Roads Preperation Works//

Over the past 6 months our Roads Maintenance Team have been working across the District to comeplete the required preparation works for our sealed roads reseal program. This program is set to commence in March. To assist them in their efforts some of the preparation works have been outsourced to contractors. Below are a list of updates on some key areas.

Tynan Road Set to commence on the week starting 24/02/2019 there are a number of patches along Tynan Road that need to be Profiled/Excavated with new base material imported. As you can see in the third photo some of the areas have experienced significant rutting due to the traffic movements, these areas requiring excavation and importing new base material. We ask you to please take care whilst driving through this work sites and obey all traffic management signage.

Carcuma Road Similarly to Tynan Road there is a section of Carcuma Road close to the Webb Road intersection which require the same treatment. The constant force from the heavy vehicles using this road has resulted in rutting to the outer wheel path of south bound traffic. This section will be excavated and have new base material imported. This work is expected to be completed by 22/02/2019.

Gibbs Street The spoon drain at the intersection between Gibbs Street and Becker Terrace in Tintinara was in very poor condition and was holding water. This resulted in water penetrating the base material immediately adjacent to the spoon drain on Gibbs Street causing pot holes. The spoon drain has been replaced and the affected base material has been removed and replaced. Whilst the contractor was in the area they upgraded pram ramps. (1st and 2nd photo)
