25 February 2019 - Media release

Echuca Moama based community groups are invited to assist in hosting a new resident’s welcome evening at Campaspe Regional Library, Echuca.

Library Services Manager, Jenny Mustey, said we are seeking community group representatives to attend and promote their group to people who have recently moved to the area.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for groups to gain new members and showcase what the Echuca Moama area has to offer,” Mrs Mustey said.

“The newcomers evening has not run in Echuca for a number of years, so it is likely to attract a large volume of attendees looking to be more involved in their community.”

“Surrounding towns have been hosting successful events each year and find them a great way to promote healthy and connected local communities.”

“The library is an essential community hub and we are keen to show new residents the many programs and services we offer.”

The evening is opportunity to have an informal chat with different group members and receive some information about their meetings, activities and events.

Tables and chairs will be made available to all community groups wanting to be involved with setup required by 5pm on the night.

The evening will be held on Wednesday, 3 April from 5pm to 8pm at the Campaspe Regional Library, Echuca, located at 310 Hare Street.

New residents to the Echuca Moama area are encouraged to drop in any time between 5pm and 8pm and meet some great local community groups looking for enthusiastic new members.

More information, including participating community groups, will be promoted closer to the night with regular updates posted on the council and library’s social media pages and online at www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/library.

Community groups wanting to register their interest can do so by Friday, 15 March by emailing [email protected] or calling 03 5481 2400.
