Women in our community are making significant achievements to empower other women!
Strathfield Council will host a morning tea and invite all local residents, business women, community groups and leaders to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2019.
Centering on the theme of ‘More Powerful Together’ and focusing on women’s health, the event will feature a key note speaker, Australian actress Dr Renee Lim, and guest speaker, Stacey Gadd, Ambassador for Pink Hope.
Renee Lim, leading actress, presenter, and medical doctor, balances multiple careers and unites them with her value of education to empower people. Renee currently presents on Ask the Doctor – a new ABC series that addresses the condition of the nation’s health, the latest developments in medical treatments and the future of healthcare.
Stacey Gadd, Ambassador for Pink Hope, will be sharing her extraordinary story of her brave decision to undergo a preventive double mastectomy. She appeared on Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes, wanting to give hope to others going through the same experience. Stacey remains an active advocate for women’s health through various campaigns with Pink Hope.

This year’s event will be in support of Pink Hope; a preventative health organisation that works to ensure women can assess, manage, and reduce their risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
