Ballarat (City) 26 Feb 2019

Ballarat residents are encouraged to don a hat, wear sturdy footwear and gloves and join in Clean Up Australia Day activities.

The City of Ballarat is a proud supporter of Clean Up Australia Day, held on Sunday 3 March, with school and youth clean up days on Friday 1 March.

Ballarat Mayor Samantha McIntosh said Clean Up Australia Day was an important community event.

“Clean Up Australia Day is one of the simplest yet most effective ways of cleaning up our environment. You can see instant results and it really does contribute to the health of our local parklands and waterways,” Mayor McIntosh said.

“I would urge all residents, schools and youth groups to take a couple of hours out of their day to make a real difference to our environment.”
