Snowy Monaro Regional Council is calling on the community to have their say on whether a proposed town clock in Cooma should become a reality.

Cooma’s Litchfield family has donated $100,000 for the installation of a clock in Cooma’s CBD, as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Hazeldean Pty Ltd (owned and operated by the Litchfield family).

The town clock will be located on the Vale Street and Sharp Street roundabout.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on December 6, 2018, Council resolved to allocate $50,000 towards the construction of a Cooma town clock should the community support the proposal.

Council has commenced community consultation on the proposed town clock. Residents are being asked whether they support the project or not.

In 2014, a community design competition was held and in collaboration with the Litchfield family, and a design was finalised.

To inspect the proposed designs, and to provide feedback, residents can visit Council’s Your Say platform or pick up a feedback form at any Council office, library or visitors centre. Consultation will close midnight Sunday 10 March.

An information stall will be held on the newsagency corner (Percy’s corner) of Vale and Sharp Streets on Thursday 28 February between 1pm - 2.30pm. Residents will be able to view the designs, chat with the project manager, and provide their feedback.
