Ararat Rural City Council is offering residents two free visits to their local transfer station with free waste vouchers available for the month of March.
Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the waste vouchers allowed residents to dispose of one cubic metre of hard waste per visit.
Dr Harrison said the vouchers are available now at the Council’s Ararat office and transfer stations and are valid from March 1 to 31 inclusive.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to use their local transfer station for free and dispose of rubbish they may have accumulated,” he said.
“As well as collecting the vouchers from transfer stations or Council office, they will also be available on our website and be printed in the Ararat Advertiser on Friday March 1.”
The vouchers can be used for the disposal of hard waste and cannot be used for e-waste, asbestos, dead animals, green waste or commercial waste.
Hard waste includes items such as furniture, lounge suites, mattresses, fridges, dryers, washing machines, white / grey goods, books, nursery items and tyres.
