For the second consecutive year, Manly Beach has secured the top spot as Australia’s best beach and 18th in the world!
It’s no surprise really, being a world surfing reserve, home to Australian surfing and playing host to a number of international events like the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro (16-24 March 2019), the Australian Beach Volleyball tour Volley Fest, and a number of local festivals including Manly Jazz and Taste of Manly – it’s up there on the global stage.
This award isn’t news to many locals who know the Northern Beaches is spoiled for choice when it comes to pristine beaches- any of our 24 ocean beaches could have made the top 20!
Manly is also so much more than a beach stop with an abundance of activities to do like visiting the Manly Art Gallery and Museum, bushwalking, snorkelling, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, sailing and cycling to name but a few. And not to forget the great shopping and abundance of cafes, restaurants and pubs to choose from.

Stunning beach! Manly Beach is both relaxing with stunning views around. It’s a great place to take in and watch the world go by..highly recommend a visit for lunch and a relaxing day at the beach.

Give me Manly over Bondi any day. Manly has a lovely laid-back village atmosphere and a gorgeous beach. In my view Manly brings you everything Bondi can without having to battle the crowds.

Beautiful beach, trendy shops, great food. Wow! Manly Beach has it all. A beautiful beach with soft sand and turquoise water. Snorkelling spots. Surf. Trendy boutique shops- I came back with 2 bags of darling beachy stuff. The food is really good. Lots of choices- and great outdoor seating areas to enjoy the seaside view. The Walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is fun as well.
