East Gippsland Shire Council will proudly present author Tony Clark and his book Remember Them: Tragic RAAF Accidents in Gippsland During WWII at a special free event at the Bairnsdale Library on Thursday, February 28 from 1.30 – 2.30 pm.
Council’s Library Programs Team Leader Kylie Pinkerton said never before has a book been written documenting the compelling, yet tragic stories of those who trained and served in the RAAF bases in Gippsland during World War II.
“Thousands of men and women passed through the bases at Bairnsdale, East and West Sale, Yanakie and Mallacoota and many were to lose their lives or suffer severe injuries in the thousands of flights during that period,” she said.
