Campaspe Shire Council is continuing to progress the development of a revised Access and Inclusion Plan, with three pop up sessions planned for March.

Mayor, Cr Adrian Weston said council has already received great feedback through an online community survey, as well as engaging with key service agencies and groups.

“Council staff will be in Kyabram, Echuca and Rochester asking community members about removing barriers and promoting participation by people of all abilities in broad aspects of community life,” Cr Weston said.

The pop up sessions are as follows:

Kyabram (in front of Woolworths). Thursday, 14 March. 10.00 to 11.30am Echuca CBD (in front of Cotton On). Thursday, 14 March. 1.30 to 3.30pm Rochester (in front of IGA). Friday, 15 March. 10.30am to 12noon.

Council’s 2014 plan focused heavily on issues relating to people with disabilities, the aged and people from a lower socio economic environment.

“Our revised plan needs to reflect the community of today, to represent everyone who may experience difficulties fully participating in community life. This includes people with disabilities, the LGBTIQ+ community, culturally diverse and or religious minority groups and people with children,” Cr Weston said.

Once the plan has been drafted, it will go out to public for a final review before finalisation.
