Tucked under shady trees alongside the Morley Noranda Recreation Club, Noranda's new public space will have picnic furniture, lighting and an outdoor ping-pong table which has just been installed and will soon be adorned with colourful artwork. These features are in addition to the Little Library and community noticeboard already put in place by the Men's Shed.
The City, Hawaiian, and Noranda Vibes joined forces to support this project, after feedback from the City's Place Activation Workshops highlighted the community's desire to see a better link between the shopping centre and Noranda Sporting Complex. I'm sure the space will be well used by all members of our local community and might even inspire a new generation of ping-pong players.
The space will be officially launched with a free community event and naming competition in March, so keep an eye out for details on the City's Facebook page.
