After a competitive process, Ric McConaghy Pty Ltd has been appointed to work with the community and Council to design a new all abilities, multi-age playspace for Thomas Street Reserve.
Award-wining designer, Ric McConaghy, has worked on collaborative design teams for playspaces all around Australia including Footscray Park all abilities playspace, Brimbank Park regional all abilities playspace and Alma Park treehouse playspace in St Kilda.
Ric described his work:
“I enjoy creating places that better meet the social, emotional, spiritual as well as physical needs and aspirations of all children and the adults that accompany them.
“I like to incorporate art and design elements that encourage interaction, engagement and wonder.”
Ric will collaborate with an outstanding, local landscape architect, Justin Staggard, to deliver the community’s vision.
A Community Reference group has also been appointed to guide the development process and Council will be calling for community ideas and suggestions to form the concept plan.
