Ballarat (City) 4 Mar 2019

The activation of Civic Hall, including the landmark building's re-opening event, were always included in the original $6.78 million project approved by Council.

The re-opening of the Civic Hall marked a major milestone for Ballarat and the City of Ballarat wanted to share this moment with the community. It was about celebrating the work that has gone into ensuring the building re-opened, while also showcasing to the wider region how this space could be used into the future.

The benefits this wonderful new space contributes to our community range from providing our local creatives with another platform to showcase their work, to the economic prosperity of once again have a landmark hall that will bring in some of the biggest names in the exhibition, performing, creative and music spaces.

Each of the 290 tickets to the sit-down event were sold out. There was simply no demand for the $25 general admin tickets.

It's fantastic to see the Civic Hall taking bookings for events so soon after its re-opening. This just goes to show there is demand for the space, and we're thrilled to have got things moving and to provide the community exactly what they told us they wanted.
