Local show season is well and truly upon us, with the Delegate and Dalgety Shows were held over the weekend.
I enjoyed my time at the Delegate Show, getting to know more locals, and taking in the very best of rural life. I also had the pleasure of presenting the Sheep Dog Trial awards.
I joined fellow Councillors and staff at the Delegate Show as part of Council’s information stall. The stall promoted the numerous strategies and plans we have on public exhibition.
At the Dalgety Show, our Biosecurity Team and Resource and Waste Team held very popular information stalls. Councillors and staff from our Executive Management Team were in attendance at both shows and will be present at the Cooma and Bombala Shows.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to head along and chat with Councillors and staff. A list of who will be in attendance at each show is available on Council’s website.
Congratulations to the organising committees of both shows. You once again showcased what we love about living in the Snowy Monaro. Well done all.
Cooma’s CBD is set for a $1million upgrade, following an election commitment from the Deputy Premier and Member for Monaro John Barilaro.
Cooma is the capital of the Snowy Monaro and has more than 1 million visitors pass through town each year. Revamping the CBD will increase the likelihood of these visitors stopping in town and spending money in our local businesses.
There are a number of draft strategies and plans out for public comment. I encourage you to have your say on the following items: Library Strategy, Community Transport Strategy, Snowy Monaro Destination Management Plan, Snowy Monaro Region Planning and Land Use Discussion Paper, Nijong Oval Learner Bike Track, 2020 Operational Plan, and Cooma Town Clock.
To view these draft strategies, and plans, and to provide your feedback, please visit the Your Say Snowy Monaro website, or drop by any Council office or library.
