The City of Swan's Swan Valley Visitor Centre (SVVC) took home gold at the 2018 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards held in Launceston on Friday night.

It marks the second year in a row the SVVC has won the top national award, also winning its category at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards for 2017 and 2018.

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said the achievements demonstrated the high quality tourism servicing on offer in the Swan Valley.

"We are very lucky to not only have a strong and talented Visitor Centre team, but an authentic and passionate industry," he said.

"Together, we are achieving our objective of increasing tourism growth in the region and lifting brand awareness and preference for the Swan Valley.

"Congratulations also go to Sandalford Wines for winning silver in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category."

Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Councillor Rod Henderson said the City is committed to growing and supporting tourism and highlighting what makes the region exceptional.

"There's so much potential for the Swan Valley: just 25 minutes from Perth, it's the perfect haven to relax and take in beautiful vistas, enjoy world-class wineries, dine on gourmet food and experience fresh seasonal produce with real taste," he said.

"The Swan Valley is brimming with fresh produce at this time of year, so head down to one of the friendly businesses, visit a seasonal roadside stall or make a day of it by downloading our new Fresh Seasonal Produce Trail."

"With more than 150 attractions, there are endless experiences on offer, so you can see why it's a highly popular travel destination for visitors across Australia and overseas."
