A number of Liverpool’s most popular eateries will be on show at Liverpool on a Roll, the new multicultural food festival coming to Greenway Park in West Hoxton on Saturday 30 March.

Black Elk Espresso, Bun Me Baguette, Crossroads Hotel and Mac Street Diner have been added to the roster of local stallholders serving up tasty treats presented “on a roll”, joining Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre’s Bellbird Dining & Bar.

“Liverpool on a Roll is a celebration of our vibrant, growing community and the many cultures that have helped make Liverpool a unique destination,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.

“With this in mind, Council is proud to put the spotlight on some of our region’s best restaurants and cafes at our exciting new food festival, challenging them to create something delicious that explores our ‘on a roll’ event concept.”

Mac Street Diner owner Frank Angilletta said he was excited to be part of the new celebration.

“The Liverpool community welcomed us with open arms and we are very excited to bring them something delicious at Liverpool on a Roll that’s uniquely Mac Street Diner,” Mr Angilletta said.

“We’ll be serving up a tasty Italian meatball slider and freshly piped ricotta cannoli.”

Black Elk Espresso will serve a tasty eggs benedict roll using twice-cooked pork belly and chipotle hollandaise, as well as a beef burger, doughnut balls, deep-fried ice cream and coffee.

Bun Me Baguette, popular with Liverpool’s lunch crowd, will be selling rice paper rolls, beef noodle soup and banh mi topped with a choice of crispy pork, grilled chicken or stir fried beef and Crossroads Hotel will serve a fillet steak and salad sub, topped with a blue cheese miso sauce.

Created to celebrate the city’s cultural diversity through cuisine, Liverpool on a Roll will feature a range of tasty treats presented “on a roll”, from burgers and bao to banh mi, burritos and more.

There will also be live entertainment, giveaways, garden games, market stalls and a pop-up beer garden with Pimm's cocktails.

“Liverpool on a Roll is a fantastic opportunity to bring the best in food to our suburbs,” Mayor Waller said.

“Like the delicious cuisine available at our new food festival, Liverpool is on a roll, emerging as Sydney’s third CBD and gaining a reputation as a wonderful place to live, work and learn.

“Council is incredibly proud to be able to partner with local restaurants and cafes to deliver an exciting new community event that builds on the liveability of our city.

“I look forward to celebrating with the wider community at Liverpool on a Roll and sharing a taste of the great South West with those who live in our city and beyond.”

Liverpool on a Roll will be held from 5pm – 10pm on Saturday 30 March at Greenway Park, West Hoxton. All food items will be capped at $12.

Event sponsors include Willowdale, Time Out (Lifestyle Publisher Partner) and 2DayFM (Exclusive Radio Sponsor). A full line-up of stallholders will be released soon.
