Gympie Regional Council is calling on residents to have their say on the Gympie Warm Water Pool program feasibility and business case.
Background:
As a result of Council’s resolution in June 2016, M12/06/16, …….. (a) should the Gympie Hydrotherapy Group be successful in attracting major funding for the project, Council will provide a site and consider other assistance, (b) Council will work with the Gympie Hydrotherapy Group Inc. to develop a comprehensive, updated business plan for a hydrotherapy pool for the Gympie region, which considers all options including site options, subject to advice from the Gympie Hydrotherapy Group Inc. that they are accepting of Council’s offer to assist.
A project working group was formed between Council officers and a representative of the Gympie Hydrotherapy Group Inc., to consider the scope of an updated business plan. This resulted in Gympie Regional Council, in collaboration with the Gympie Hydrotherapy Group Inc., engaging an independent consultant (Otium Planning Group) to prepare a draft Feasibility and Business Case for a hydrotherapy pool for the region.
Councilor Dan Stewart said this is a great opportunity for the residents of the Gympie region to provide feedback on the project.
“Over the past couple of years, patrons of the region’s pools have raised concerns with me about water temperatures. I hope residents are able to take the time to complete the survey. It will allow Council to make an informed decision. Please consider the report and give us some feedback.”

Hard copies of the draft report and survey are also available at all Gympie Regional Libraries.
