SHIRE HALL RESTORATION: Council is considering restoration of the Cooktown Shire Hall as a Works for Queensland funding application and would like to hear residents’ opinions about restoring this community asset. Other projects being considered for the funding are a back-up water supply to build disaster resilience and shade for Council’s playgrounds and parks. The Works for Queensland program is a State Government initiative aimed at fully funding the renewal or maintenance of assets owned by councils to create local job opportunities.
