Council to farewell General Manager, Stephen Glen

Cessnock City Council’s General Manager, Stephen Glen has announced his resignation after more than five years in the position.  

Mr Glen started with Council on the 3 June 2013 and this July will celebrate 30 years of service in local government.  

This marks the start of Mr Glen’s retirement where he looks forward to travelling and spending time with his family.  

Mr Glen said its been a pleasure to serve the community of Cessnock.  

“I’ve enjoyed working with the Mayor, Councillors and staff as we work toward the common goal of achieving for the Cessnock Local Government Area and its residents.”  

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent congratulated Mr Glen on his retirement and thanked him for his commitment.  

 “Stephen has led Council with integrity and excellence, with community needs at the forefront of his mind. His knowledge of local government and extensive experience has ensured Council is in a strong position. I wish Stephen all the best in his future endeavours, as he enjoys time with his wife Christine and children.”

A report will go to the Council meeting of the 20 March 2019 and with Council’s consent Mr Glen will finish up in July 2019.
