The Little Sellers Art Prize is open for entries with young artists invited to submit work on the theme ‘I can…’.
Eurobodalla Council’s creative arts coordinator Indi Carmichael is encouraging entrants to interpret the theme creatively.
“The Little Sellers is an acquisitive prize for young artists between the ages of five and 18,” Ms Carmichael said.
“This year’s theme is ‘I can…’ and we want each participant to respond imaginatively, in a way that’s meaningful to them.”
Now in its fourth year, the Little Sellers Art Prize is a companion event to the prestigious Basil Sellers Art Prize.
Ms Carmichael said the overall winner would receive $200 from art collector and philanthropist Basil Sellers.
“There are four age categories, and the six finalists from each will have their worked framed and exhibited later in the year,” she said.
The winner and runner up in each category receive an art-supplies voucher from art supplies shop Amanda’s of Mogo, valued at $50 and $30 respectively. Three of the winning works will form a part of the Shire’s permanent collection.
Ms Carmichael said the winners would be announced at the exhibition opening, at the Eurobodalla Council Chambers on Thursday 26 September.
Entry forms can be picked up from libraries and schools in the Eurobodalla or downloaded here.
