If you live or work in the Cessnock LGA, are keen on movies or a regular stream-binger, there are now 30,000 new reasons to join your local library. Free online movie streaming service Kanopy is now available to all Cessnock City Library members.
Kanopy offers hundreds of movies, documentaries, kids’ programs and more. It’s all available for library members to stream to their own device free of charge. Library members will have access to thousands of films, including favourites from Australia and New Zealand and classics from The Criterion Collection. Members may also indulge in festival indie or world cinema sourced from award-winning filmmakers around the world.
Library members can log into the service from home or on a mobile device to access an extensive online library. Up to 10 films can be streamed free each month and members have up to three days to watch each downloaded item.
“This is just one more benefit of joining Cessnock City Library,” Library Services Co-ordinator, Rose-marie Walters said.
“Our library service extends far beyond the books on the shelves. If you haven’t taken the time to explore everything our libraries have to offer, you might be missing out.”
“Kanopy will also be particularly handy for the school holidays, there is an entire section of dedicated to children’s programs and movies,” Ms Walters said.
Kanopy is compatible with a range of devices, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Chromecast.
Members can now access Kanopy via the Cessnock City Library website. A library membership card is required for registration. Non-members are invited to join Cessnock City Library and enjoy all of the services available.You can join at either Cessnock or Kurri Kurri Branch Library.
While the use of Kanopy is free of charge, members are responsible for managing their data use when using the service.
