Running throughout January 2019, the Summer Parks Challenge gave residents the opportunity to explore the City’s parks and playgrounds.
Participants were required to answer a checkpoint question and complete an outdoor challenge at a number of City parks and reserves to be in with a chance of winning a prize. Included in the prize pool were experience passes from Rockingham Wild Encounters, gift packs from Act-Belong-Commit and a new bicycle from KD Cycles.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels congratulated the winners on navigating through the Summer Parks Challenge.
"The Summer Parks Challenge represented a fantastic opportunity for residents to be physically active and explore some of the City’s parks and reserves," Mayor Sammels said.
"It was fantastic to see so many young people embrace the chance to get outdoors and explore their City and I congratulate all the winners. While the challenge may be over, I hope that the community continues to visit and enjoy the wide range of parks and reserves that are located in the City."
Venues in the Summer Parks Challenge included Fantasy Park, Charnley Reserve, The Avenue Reserve, Eva Lynch Park, Lions Park, Callawa Reserve, Trusty Park, Overton Reserve, Chesapeake Reserve and the The Harbour Playground.
