Revellers looking for easy transport to the Red Hot Summer Tour concert – and home again – can go straight to their Plan B, thanks to Council’s Red Hot bus service.

About 5,500 concert goers are expected at the Mackay Park event. With limited parking in the vicinity, Council has worked with the event organiser, police and bus companies to run a pick-up and drop-off service, on Saturday 23 March.

Council’s events coordinator Leisa Tague said the return-trip service would run from Narooma, Tuross Head, Moruya’s South Head and CBD, Broulee and Maloneys Beach.

“The Red Hot Summer Tour has grown by 2,000 patrons in three years, so we’re encouraging people to leave their cars at home,” Ms Tague said.

“It’s a licenced event. By taking the bus, concert goers can enjoy a few drinks and not worry about how they’re getting home.

“Seats must be pre-booked via the Batemans Bay Visitor Information Centre by phoning 1800 802 528, or visiting in person, between 9am and 5pm, before Monday 18 March.”

She said the bus service was a trial and if successful could be extended to other events, particularly those with a liquor licence.
