Resignation of Broome Shire Councillor

Broome Shire Councillor, Warren Fryer, has provided notice of his resignation from Council in accordance with Section 2.31 of the Local Government Act.

Cr Fryer has relocated overseas and Shire of Broome CEO, Sam Mastrolembo, said he thanked him for his service to the community during his three years as a Broome Shire Councillor.

Mr Mastrolembo said that Local Government elections were next due to be held in October 2019 and Council would consider at its March Ordinary Meeting whether to leave the position vacant pending the election or to call an extraordinary election to fill the vacancy.
