The Sant Nirankari Mission is a spiritual movement operating from Delhi in India that has 21-million followers worldwide and is headed by Her Holiness Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj.
Her Holiness visited Blacktown City recently to attend the Sant Nirankari Mission Australia World Youth Conference at the Mission’s New South Wales headquarters at Glendenning.
More than three-thousand followers from around Australia and the Asia-Pacific region attended the three-day conference. It is the first time that the youth event has been held outside India.
Blacktown City Council has granted Honorary Citizenship to Her Holiness as a mark of respect and gratitude for the work that Her Holiness and the Nirankari Mission have led in their quest for world peace and unity.
Her Holiness is leading the 90-year old legacy of the Mission of Universal Brotherhood and Peace, travelling the length and breadth of the world preaching the message of Oneness, Humanness and Peace.
Her Holiness and a number of members of the local Nirankari congregation were special guests at a dinner held in her honour in the Blacktown City Council’s Nirimba Room, where Mayor Stephen Bali presented her with a certificate of Honorary Citizenship of Blacktown and a painting by renowned local artist, Danny Eastwood.
Mayor Bali said; “Her Holiness is an inspiration to us all as she guides the youth of today towards adopting a balanced lifestyle, wherein they continue to grow in the material world in humility and selfless service of mankind.
“The Nirankari congregation is always among the first to volunteer for charitable service to our community.”
Her Holiness said; ”Let us all be true to ourselves, strive for equality within our community life and seek a peaceful co-existence in the world.”
