Entries are being accepted for the popular Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden photographic competition. Now in its sixth year, entrants have a chance to win cash prizes and their image included in the garden’s 2020 calendar.
Garden manager Michael Anlezark said the annual exhibition had continued to grow since the competition seed was sown in 2013.
“It’s a great showcase for our photographers. The quality of entries is so high and so diverse, it’s quite a job to shortlist the finalists,” Mr Anlezark said.
“There are four categories this year – Contemporary, Shapes and Shadows, In Bloom, and Life in the Garden – with a senior and junior winner in each. Plus the popular People’s Choice award, where exhibition visitors vote in their favourite.”
He said the exhibition opened with the announcement of the winners on Friday 15 November, continuing until Sunday 1 December.
“Senior and junior winners receive $500 and $300 respectively, with runners-up taking home a $50 voucher for merchandise/Plants at the Garden. The People’s Choice selection wins $250, announced Monday 2 December,” Mr Anlezark said.
“Entries are open – it never hurts to get in early – but we’ll keep accepting submissions until Sunday 13 October.”
All images have to have been taken over the past 12 months within the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden.
The competition is run by community group Friends of Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden in partnership with Eurobodalla Council. The calendar has become a professional and much-anticipated product, and sales help support the garden’s development.
