"It's an exciting time in the Town of Bassendean. We are on the cusp of many great opportunities to realise some of our Town's potential...We are very fortunate ... to be a well-connected Council, close to the city, with 3 train stations allowing our community to be linked to transport, to employment, to education and other amenities. We are also fortunate to have one of the largest wetlands in the Perth metropolitan area as well as extensive river frontage and beautiful shared spaces", stated Renee McLennan, Mayor of the Town of Bassendean last Monday evening. The Mayor was addressing the community, state government representatives and special guests including the Honourable Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Child Protection; Women's Interests; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence and Community Services in addition to Local Member, the Honourable Dave Kelly.
"BassenDream Our Future" is the name for the Town of Bassendean's community engagement process to enable us to create a shared vision that will shape the future of our Town. "We are seeking from our community your thoughts, ideas and expectations on how Council should respond to the challenges and opportunities that our growing community and evolving community presents in a way that preserves the character and spirit of Bassendean", reinforced the Mayor.
Please watch this space as over the coming weeks you will hear more about how you can contribute to "BassenDream Our Future".
