Bike Week Community Bike Ride
City of Rockingham 14 Mar 2019

Bike Week is Western Australia’s annual celebration of people riding bikes for transport, fun and healthier lifestyles. The Community Breakfast Bike Ride takes place along the City’s stunning coastline, starting and finishing at Long Point near the Port Kennedy Boat Ramp.

This year’s ride will feature three distances for riders. The first is a smooth 5km circuit with a turnaround at Cote D’Azur Gardens, the second route is an 11km ride that turns around at Fendam Street in Warnbro, while the third is a 19km journey that turns around near the Safety Bay Yacht Club.

Following the ride, participants will be able to enjoy a free breakfast back at Long Point. There will also be free bike maintenance checks and a range children’s activities including a bouncy castle, face painting, giant games, prizes and giveaways.

City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to dust off their bikes and join in the Community Breakfast Ride on 24 March.

"Here in the City of Rockingham we are fortunate to have a number of shared pathways that run adjacent to our stunning coastline and the Community Breakfast ride is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy cycling in a relaxed, friendly environment," Mayor Sammels said.

"Cycling has a number of physical, mental and environmental benefits that are well worth pursuing and I encourage residents to hop on their bikes and recapture their love for cycling during the 2019 Community Breakfast Ride."

Registrations are now open and are essential. Please note participants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
