Volunteers Coordinator at Tamworth Regional Council, Veronica Filby said, “Activities, events and day-to-day life in Tamworth would not happen without the ongoing support from our local volunteers. It’s important that we acknowledge the hard work of these individuals and groups”.
“If you know of volunteers who go above and beyond to help the community, then we encourage you to put them forward for a Community Volunteer Award.”

Last year, Tamworth Youth Volunteer of the Year Award nominee, 22-year-old Aimee Caulfield went on to be named the 2018 NSW Young Volunteer of the Year – a state-wide search that sees over 112,000 nominations.
Aimee is a youth leader for Youth Insearch, chair for the organisation’s State Council and member of the National Council who spends her time motivating troubled youths to seek help to stay on track.
“It was a real honour to be named the 2018 NSW Young Volunteer”, said Caulfield.
“I was able to use the recognition of the award to help raise awareness about the services of Youth Insearch for the betterment of our entire community, which was largely made possible because I was nominated for the Tamworth Community Volunteer Awards.
“I encourage anyone that wants do their bit for the community or make a difference to the lives of others to become a volunteer and to go in the running for the Community Volunteer Awards.
“Many hands make light work and if we all do that little bit extra for our community then it really does go a long way”, added Caulfield.
If you know an individual, group or organisation who volunteers their time and services to the community, Council is calling for you to nominate them, so they received the recognition and thanks they deserve.
