Picking up after your dog

Please be considerate when walking your dog across parks, reserves and ovals, by picking up after your pet. Remember it is your legal responsibility to have a bag or container on hand to immediately clean up after your dog.

Bring along a plastic bag from home or use the on-site doggie bags and bins provided by Council. Several of City of Unley reserves have free plastic bags available from a dispenser to assist dog owners. Council also has compostable dog waste bags and containers for purchase from the Unley Civic Centre, 181 Unley Road, during business hours.

Please note an expiation fine of $210.00 can be issued for not picking up after your dog.   Complaints Council may investigate complaints relating to dog owners who do not pick up after their pet. Complaints can be lodged via My Unley online.

Select ‘Report an Issue’, then ‘Request Type’ – Dogs. Please include as much details of the incident as possible:

Dog owner name and address (if possible) Where the dog was Breed of dog Description of dog Time and date of the incident Registration disc number (if possible).
