Blacktown City Council is proud to host the 2019 National Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA) Conference, celebrating 100 years of women in local government.
The conference will be held at Novotel Sydney West HQ, at Rooty Hill from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 May.
The ALGWA Conference will bring together some of Australia’s most influential women including Mayors, Councillors, Council Officers and a list of respected key-note speakers headed by the director of Australia's Workplace Gender Equality Agency, Libby Lyons; journalist, presenter and author, Jessica Rowe and respected businesswoman, Deborah Thomas.
“The ALGWA conference presents a fantastic opportunity to be informed, enlivened and supportive of women’s participation and leadership in local government,” Blacktown City Deputy Mayor Tony Bleasdale said.
“The national conference is a great platform for delegates to exchange ideas, debate and engage in cross-council collaboration on issues affecting women in local government.”
