Celebrate Harmony Week
It is Harmony Week from 17 March to Saturday 23 March. It’s a week for communities around Australia to celebrate multiculturalism and diversity. It is about inclusiveness and respect for all Australians, and spreading the message that ‘everyone belongs’.
To celebrate Harmony Week 2019, Mosman Council has some special events planned.
Harmony Night at the Mosman Youth CentreThursday 21 March is Harmony Night at the Youth Centre. High school aged young people are invited to enjoy recipes and treats from around the world, and a movie themed around belonging and cultural awareness. From 3-6pm.
Harmony Day Discussion Group at the Seniors CentreThursday 21 March at 10.30am – 12.30pm. Come along and enjoy a discussion about the themes of Harmony Week. Cost is $10 including a light lunch. To book visit events.mosman.nsw.gov.au
Harmony Day Lunch at the Seniors CentreFriday 22 March at 12.30 – 2.00pm. Mosman Community Care is hosting a special Harmony Week lunch for seniors. Cost is $12 for a three course lunch and a glass of wine. To book visit events.mosman.nsw.gov.au
Story time with Anne DonnellyFor younger children, there will be a special story time at the library with local writer Anne Donnelly. Anne will read her book Ori the Octopus, a lovely tale for children about diversity, friendship, helping others and teamwork. At Barry O’Keefe Library on Saturday 23 March at 10.30am.
