A Whale’s Tale theatre show will be performed at two upcoming community festivals to share the harmful impact of plastic on marine life.
Celebrate Mooroolbark on 23 March and Ecotopia Festival at Yarra Junction on 24 March. Both festivals are supported by Council’s Grants for Community programs.

River to the Bay Program Coordinator Julie Hanman said the show would highlight the connection of Yarra Ranges’ creeks and rivers to Port Phillip Bay.
Ms Hanman said it was important for the community to understand that what happens in our rivers and streams affects plants and animals in the ocean.
“Simple things like keeping your bin secure and closed really make a difference by stopping rubbish getting into our drains which go to our rivers,” Ms Hanman said.
The eye of the enormous blow-up whale moves, it is interactive and people can even go inside the whale, she said.
The show is performed by Born in a Taxi. For more information, visit www.borninataxi.com.au
