The Victorian State Ballet has assembled a cast of leading classical ballet dancers from across Australia and abroad for a full-length ballet spectacular of one of the most classic and bewitching fairytale stories.
Led under the direction of Victorian State Ballet artistic director Michelle Sierra, the story is retold through stunning original choreography, beautiful staging and costuming, superb classical ballet technique and mime to produce a magical work that will delight audiences of all ages.
With wonderful ensembles, solos including the Rose Adage as Princess Aurora meets her suitors, and of course the concluding celebratory dance for the happy union of prince and princess, this is a spectacle like no other.
Sleeping Beauty combines the best of classical ballet, with all its charms and virtuosity, accompanied by the hauntingly beautiful original score by Tchaikovsky.
