Ballarat City Council has noted its Council Plan for the second quarter of the 2018-19 financial year. 

The 2017-2021 Council Plan is a strategic document outlining what the City of Ballarat will do to achieve it and the community’s vision of Ballarat as a proud, bold, vibrant and thriving city.  

It drives everything the City of Ballarat does over the four-year period, as well as determining the projects, services, events and other initiatives that will be funded and delivered in the next financial year. 

In the second quarter of 2018-19, Council completed: 

The Sebastopol Library and Community Hub, which offers a range of programs for all ages including early years story times, digital hub programs, school holiday activities and adult activities. The Ballarat North Community Hub, with further identified works, such as car park and roof upgrades, to be completed in coming months The Brown Hill Community Hall project Community engagement activities included the Bakery Hill Master Plan, draft Community Engagement Strategy, draft Access and Inclusion Plan, Social Policy Framework and Wall Street Reserve in Sebastopol

City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said some outstanding infrastructure projects had been completed in the second quarter of 2018-19.

“The Sebastopol Library and Community Hub has received very positive feedback since it opened in early January and the user groups have been very excited about both the new look Ballarat North Community Hub and the Brown Hill Community Hall,” Cr McIntosh said.

“It’s fantastic to see some of these projects being ticked off over the quarterly period and reflected in the Council Plan progress reports, which keeps us accountable to our community to deliver our projects, strategies and initiatives.”
