Deputy Mayor Councillor Kylie Spears, one of Council’s representatives on the Maroondah Arts Advisory Committee, said groups whose arts and cultural activities can enhance and contribute to the vitality and diversity of the arts within Maroondah may be eligible for financial assistance.
“Open to arts and cultural partnerships, groups and organisations, the grants offer support projects at any stage of the creative process, with the aim of delivering a more vibrant and accessible arts and cultural sector in Maroondah,” Cr Spears said.
“Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Funding Scheme has helped hundreds of local projects to get off the ground. Every successful project represents another opportunity for residents to engage in activities that contribute to the vibrancy and depth of our arts community.
“Council is pleased to be able to offer this latest round of funding to deliver more opportunities for creativity across Maroondah and strengthen arts and cultural development within our municipality.
“The funding can be used for a wide range of opportunities including creative development, administrative support, the activation of new arts and cultural spaces, to name but a few,” she said.
The Arts and Cultural Grants Funding Scheme is a category of Council’s Community Grants Program and enables not-for-profit groups, artists and organisations to deliver community-driven projects, initiatives and events that increase the city’s arts profile and participation within the arts.
