The Quilters and Craft Group has donated $2000 worth of pressure releasing cushions to the Hostel.
The Snowy Mountains Quilters and Craft group is well known for their generosity.
Each year, the group produces a beautiful quilt that they raffle off to raise funds for a local cause.
The most recent recipients of the group’s hard work are the residents of Snowy River Hostel.
The Quilters and Craft Group has donated $2000 worth of pressure relieving cushions to the Hostel.
Last year, the group raised $1800 and were able to purchase three Roho Cushions for the Hostel.
“I would like to thank the group for their hard work and dedication. The residents of Snowy River Hostel will benefit from the donation of the cushions,” Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor John Rooney said.
The cushions feature soft, flexible, inter-connected air cells that distribute pressure evenly across the surface while increasing blood flow. The Quilters and Craft Group approached the Hostel last year asking how they could assist.
The group hosts the Easter Quilt and Craft Exhibition in Jindabyne.
This exhibition is a highlight on the region’s events calendar and serves as an important fundraiser for the group.
