Running from 1pm–4pm at Baldivis Primary School, Baldivis Connects is presented as part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.
During the event visitors will be able to enjoy a range of activities and a number of different stalls. Activities on offer will include ambulance tours with representatives from St John, face painting, engaging with the Baldivis Volunteer Bushfire Brigade to learn more about emergency preparedness, and the chance to learn more about the City’s SmartWatch service.
Residents will be able to chat directly with a City Ranger, visit a youth space and learn more about pool safety from City staff. Neighbours Unite Volunteers will also be present, offering helpful community safety tips and information about how residents can acquire a $40 rebate for hosting a Neighbours Unite activity.
Food, drink and coffee will be available at the event. Up to 200 eventgoers will also be eligible to receive a free sausage sizzle, ice cream and coffee or hot chocolate on a first come, first served basis.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said events such as Baldivis Connects offered residents the chance to form new connections with important community services.
"The City is delighted to be hosting Baldivis Connects and encourages residents to head down to the event so they can learn more about the community safety services that are available to them," Mayor Sammels said.
"Forming relationships with key safety services and fellow residents helps to foster a stronger sense of community for everyone, so I urge people to head down and be part of the fun at the Baldivis Connects Community Fun day on Saturday 23 March 2019."
