Indoors, outdoors and four paws – there’s something for everyone this 2019 Youth Week.
Aligning with the 2019 Youth Week theme – 12-25-year olds across the Gladstone Region have an ‘unlimited’ number of things to see and do during the annual celebrations.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council’s Engagement and Partnership team, in conjunction with local businesses and organisations, would host activities from Wednesday, 3 April until Sunday, 14 April.
“Activities across Youth Week enable our younger generation to take part in a variety of community activities across our region, the majority of which are free,” Councillor Burnett said.
“It gives them a chance to meet new people, try new things and see different parts of the region.
“Movie marathons, tennis coaching and kayaking are just some of the highlights, but there is so much on offer, you won’t be hearing, ‘I’m bored’ this Youth Week.”
Cr Burnett said the fantastic week would culminate with the highly anticipated two-day Gladstone Ninja Challenge.
“Families are invited to come and try their hand at the obstacle course, which will come to life at Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens,” he said.
“The challenges include a wall climb, net crawl, ring swings, cannon ball alley, peg board, rope forest, tyre squeeze, tyre run, balance beams and pole traverse.”
Bookings are essential for some activities and age restrictions for participants may apply.
