If you love your pets then microchip them and it’s FREE to Lithgow City residents during March 2019. There is a limit of two free microchips per resident.
Cat and dog microchipping for non-Lithgow residents ranges from $23 to $55 per animal.
The free microchipping will be held at Lithgow Animal Shelter, off Geordie Street, Lithgow, Mondays to Fridays from 3pm to 4pm.
Puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months must present with a copy of their health passport or immunisation certificates to be eligible for this service.
The free microchipping is not available to impounded animals.
Have you checked your pet’s microchip information lately? The easiest way to update your pet’s microchip details is online at petregistry.nsw.gov.au.
If you own a cat or dog, the Companion Animals Act 1998 requires them to be microchipped and registered. Local councils administer and enforce this legislation, and update registration information on the NSW Companion Animals Register. Contact Council’s Customer Service on 6354 9999 to update your dog or cat’s details on the Register, or if you have any questions about pet ownership and the law.
