Paying Our Respects

Council is offering our community the opportunity to pay their respects to the communities of Christchurch and Grafton following the tragedy that took place last week.

A space has been set aside at the North Coast Regional Botanic Gardens for community members to lay tributes, take a quiet moment to reflect or gather together to show solidarity and goodwill to our neighbours affected by these events.

The tributes will stay in place until the conclusion of Harmony Festival on Sunday 31 March 2019.

West Coffs Park

Council have begun work on a new park for West Coffs. The new park will include a new playground with a mix of junior, senior and all-accessible play elements, in addition to a new amenities block, cycleway, BBQ shelter, picnic shelters and off-leash dog park.

It’s not every day we start creating a brand new park and it would not have been possible without the input from local residents, dog-owners and dog-trainers and the students at Narranga Public School – so thank you!

Citizenship Ceremony

I was lucky enough to have the privilege of welcoming sixty people from twenty-one countries to take the pledge and become citizens of our fine country on Thursday evening.

I’m sure everyone in the community will make our newest citizens feel most welcome.

Harmony Festival

Next Saturday we will be celebrating everyone’s journey to calling Coffs Harbour home at Harmony Festival. This annual event is held at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden and is a fun, vibrant, welcoming festival.

The day celebrates our different cultures and acknowledges our diversity as a strong thread binding us together.
