Join in the Art Explosion School Holiday Fun

Taking place at the Rockingham Arts Centre from Monday 15 April to Wednesday 24 April 2019, children from the ages of four to 15 will be able to get their hands dirty in a range of creative workshops.

Delivered in two-part sessions by facilitator Tich Dixon, children and young people will be able to learn how to mould, sculpt and glaze their own pieces of clay artwork. During the program participants will be able to create hanging decorations, pinch pots and lanterns.

City of Rockingham Deputy Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged participants to register before the workshops filled up.

“The Rockingham Arts Centre provides the community with a range of fun artistic events and the Art Explosion program is the latest in a series of activities that will delight our younger residents,” Deputy Mayor Hamblin said.   “With guidance from a specialised facilitator, children and young people who participate will be able to create their own pieces of artwork that they can take home and enjoy long after the school holidays are finished. The Rockingham Arts Centre workshops are very popular, so I encourage those who are interested to register as soon as possible.”    The program costs $15 per participant. For workshops involving four to seven year olds, parents are required to attend for the duration of both workshops.
