A youth fun day will be held at the Lithgow Showground on Tuesday 16 April as part of 2019 Youth Week celebrations.

The showground precinct will come alive with fabulous fun games this Youth Week, including giant hamster balls, laser tag and a gaming truck. Free food and drinks will also be on offer alongside live entertainment brought to you by local musicians, Izzy, Luke & Tim.

The day will start at 11.00am with a welcome and Youth Awards Ceremony to recognise the awesome achievements of young people in Lithgow. The skate park will also be open and info stalls will be set up in the area. The fun day and activities will conclude at 2.00pm.

Youth Week is the largest celebration for everyone between 12 to 25 years of age in NSW. Hundreds of activities and events are organised by young people across the state.

“I’d like to thank the Youth Council for supporting this event, suggesting a games day and helping with promotion. Youth Week is a time to recognise the valuable contribution of young people,” said Mayor Clr Ray Thompson.

This year’s Youth Week theme is “Coming together to Connect, Share, Speak out and Celebrate”. This theme was set by young people who said that community connection, sticking together and supporting each other is an important theme for them in NSW.

“I’d also like to thank our key sponsors, Centennial Coal and Family and Community Services for supporting this year’s Youth Week event. It’s set to be a great day out and I’m sure our young people will have the opportunity to connect, share and celebrate together,” concluded the Mayor.

Free transport to and from the event will be provided from 10am for young people living in Portland, Wallerawang and Bowenfels. For a complete timetable and pick up spots please call Viktoria Gulabovski or Kristy Lenon on 6354 9999.
