A three-month trial to improve traffic and pedestrian safety on Paris Road Australind, in the vicinity of the Australind Village shopping centre, will start on 2 April 2019.
The aim of the trial, which will take place at the western carpark entrance on Paris Road, is to restrict the right turns out of the carpark to minimise crashes in the area and enhance pedestrian safety at both crossings on Paris Road.
During the trial motorists will not be able to turn right out of the carpark, instead, they will be encouraged to use the roundabout on Old Coast Road and enter Paris Road in an easterly direction.
Alternatively, motorists can use the existing eastern shopping centre access to exit the carpark.
All other vehicle movements at the trial location will not be affected.
Any enquiries regarding the trial can be directed to the Shire’s Executive Manager Technical Services on 9729 0300.
