Cessnock named in TripAdvisor’s top ten cities

The secret is out, Cessnock has been named on TripAdvisor’s top 10 cities, as part of its Travellers’ Choice awards. While it won’t come as a surprise to locals that Cessnock is one of the best locations in Australia, we now have the bragging rights of being officially listed at number six.   

The Cessnock Local Government Area was recognised for ‘Vineyards, World-class golf courses, gourmet eateries, lush gardens and blissful spas set in a relaxed rural setting.’  

Our endless list of attractions without the hustle and bustle of major cities saw Cessnock beat out cities like Adelaide and Perth in the running. Known for the high density of award winning wineries Cessnock is building a reputation beyond just wine.

Tourists are taking note of the abundance of wildlife, restaurants, pet friendly accommodation and relaxed atmosphere that the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this recognition is an opportunity for local businesses and reflects the unique experience we offer visitors as a destination.
