Your rates at work - March 2019

Council is making improvements to facilities throughout the shire, with the following works and projects currently underway or due to begin soon.

Road maintenance 

The following roads are undergoing works as part of the annual Unsealed Road Resheeting Program:

Kennedys Lane and McIntyre Lane, Bolinda Spotiswood Road, Bullengarook Fairfield Lane, Darraweit Guim Waterworks Road, McKenzie Lane and Hesket/Boundary Road, Hesket Lavender Lane, Sebastopol Road, Ennis Road and Clowes Street, Kyneton McLeans Lane, McIntosh Road, Parks Road, Maloneys Lane, Monument Lane and Oakleys Lane, Lancefield Hotham Avenue, Barkly Avenue, Hill Street, Margaret Street and Middle Gully Road, Macedon Ross Street, Malmsbury Finches Lane, Koala Drive and Highlands Lane, Newham Blackrange Road, Kerrie Road, Moffats Lane and Greens Lane, Romsey Gleeds Lane and Rippers Lane, Trentham East Falloons Road, Tylden Braemar Road, Turner Avenue, Glover Avenue and Donovans Road, Woodend.  Road construction

Works have started on Sidonia Road, Sidonia, with improvements to include upgrades to the road surface to assist with drainage. Park Lane in Romsey is due for works in April to adjust the road level and improve drainage, with construction on Romsey Road in Hesket now complete.

Footpath construction

Works to construct a new footpath in Beauchamp Street, between Victoria Street and Edgecombe Street, has started. Construction of a new footpath on Mount Macedon Road, Woodend (between Bowen Street and Shirley Park Lane) is complete.

Other works starting soon 

The following works are due to start soon:  

Culvert extension at Willowbank Road, Gisborne

Upgrades to the culvert, and footpath improvements along Willowbank Road, Gisborne (Parkview Street intersection).

Major culvert works at Martins Road, Nulla Vale

Works will include a new concrete box culvert, and the raising and widening of a section of road.

New street bins

Council has replaced two older style street bins at Mechanics Reserve, Kyneton and the Darraweit Guim Reserve, Darraweit Guim.

New street bins were also installed at:

Doriemus Court in New Gisborne Gisborne Adventure Park, Brantome Street, Gisborne Robertson Street, Gisborne (opposite McDonalds) Corinella Reserve, Corinella Road, Woodend.
