Tobermorey Station under water as ex cyclone Trevo...

The rain from Cyclone Trevor has taken its toll at Tobermorey Roadhouse on the Queensland-Northern Territory border.

The station and roadhouse is a normally an essential stop on the Plenty Hwy / Donohue Hwy 250km west of Boulia and 560km east of Alice Springs, but is deluged with water from the ex-cyclone.

The station's Facebook page said Tobermorey house, shed and van park has been completely flooded.

"Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) the creek flooded over complex's levee bank," they said.

"The water almost filled the first story of the main house. All staff are safe.

"No fuel or camping/accommodation until further notice.

"It would be advisable to reconsider your travel plans for the coming weeks."

Earlier that day the station said they were very happy to report "a glorious 133mm overnight." 

"The Piturie Creek in front of the house has broken its banks and all staff are enjoying the sound of rain on the roof- we've been waiting a long time," they said.

The nearest BoM weather gauge is at Urandangi which received 134.8mm on Tuesday.

Boulia has had 86.2mm in the last two days but remains cut off in every direction.

As well as the Donohue Hwy to the border, the Boulia-Dajarra Rd, the Boulia-Winton Rd, Coorabulka Rd and Boulia-Bedourie Rd are all closed.

Meanwhile the Landsborough Highway remains closed between Cloncurry and McKinlay with flooding at Gidyea Creek and is also closed between Kynuna and Winton.

Mount Isa had 17.4mm overnight with a 30 per cent chance of more rain Thursday rising to 40 per cent Friday.
